Music with a Mission
U.S. Patriot Tactical recently partnered with Hero Hut to throw a huge tailgate party for veterans and their families at the ’22 Valero Alamo Bowl. There, veterans gathered to eat, drink, and learn about programs and services that are available to them. They were also invited to listen to live music performed by a fellow veteran, Chuck Briseno.
Chuck Briseno has been playing guitar and writing music for as long as he can remember. When Chuck shipped out to Afghanistan with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, he suddenly had little time for playing music. Still, it continued to hold a special place in his heart.
Chuck’s military career spanned 13 years. During that time, he served as a scout, paratrooper, tank platoon leader, combat engineer, and brigade operations officer. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a master’s degree from Norwich University, both in Civil Engineering.
After leaving the Army, Chuck’s love of music was reignited with a passion. He debuted his first album,” Texas & You,” in 2018, closely followed by his sophomore album, “You Should be Mine,” in 2019. Chuck’s new single, “Folded Flag,” was released this past Veteran’s Day.
The Last Letter Home
Chuck and his band recently performed “Folded Flag” before a crowd of veterans and their families, who were gathered for the Hero Hut tailgate party at the 2022 Valero Alamo Bowl. The song acknowledges the pain many families experience upon finding out their loved ones have made the ultimate sacrifice.
This struggle is all too real for Chuck, who has seen many fellow soldiers who served fall in battle. “Folded Flag” was written to lift up the voices of gold star families and bring awareness to the many supportive services the Office of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers. As a company that serves millions of military members worldwide, Chuck’s mission is one that is close to our hearts.
“We’re grateful to do a show for awesome people and for the Hero Hut and to bring awareness to the VA and veterans and bring those things together. I’m a disabled vet myself and went through the whole process and I wouldn’t be able to play music for a living if I didn’t have that behind me.” Chuck told the crowd before playing “Folded Flag.”
No one feels the loss of a soldier more than the family left behind. The Saber Six Foundation aims to support gold star families by providing resources and opportunities to support each other through community. Karen Pfeifer regularly attends events like Hero Hut to honor her husband, PFC Chris Pfeifer, and help others dealing with loss know they are not alone.
U.S. Patriot is proud to have the opportunity to shine a spotlight on Chuck and his music. You can listen to the song “Folded Flag” by Chuck Briseno on Spotify, Apple Music, and Youtube.
