Tax Mistakes: Clinton Foundation Donations

As Hillary Clinton gets ready to run for president, people are beginning to pay more attention to her and her connections. Scandals that span from the 1970’s to today riddle her records and call into question (or prove the lack of) her integrity. So, what is the newest in Hillary news? Clinton Foundation donation sources and tax claims.

Foreign governments, many with poor human rights records, have donated to this foundation, while other sources of donations have supplied American mined uranium to the Russian government. None of that looks good, but what is the Clinton Foundation doing with this money?

A number of the funds do go towards helping poverty-stricken people around the world, however, most of the money, as in 90% according to their own tax filings, does not go to charitable work. So, how did the foundation clear up that mess? They made mistakes on their taxes. Somehow, according to them, the actual number of funds used for charity work, or as they phrase is, that go directly to life changing work, is 88%. The reflection in the tax statements was a mistake and the 10% should be much higher, so sayeth the Hillary.

Hillary ClintonCharity Navigator, which is the leading group in keeping an eye on charities, has placed the Clinton Foundation on its watch list to warn donors and states that the foundation’s “atypical business model does not meet the definition for a charitable organization” bringing the very status of the Clinton Foundation as a charitable group into question.

According to the foundation, the tax forms placed government grants alongside other donations, which made it appear as though the foundation had more funds available for charitable work, leading to the discrepancy in the 88% claim versus the 10% reality of funds used for such work. That seems to be a lot funding coming from grants.

With all of that, again, the question must be, how can this woman be capable of running a nation with honor and integrity? How can the American people trust that this person will function in a manner that brings credit to our nation and advances our country in a manner that is representative of American ideals? Scandal after scandal, misdeed after misdeed, and the answer in confirmed time and again that she cannot. The answer is that Hillary is the last person the people of this nation should trust to lead them into the next decade.

At some point, we must stop and ask ourselves how such a person can have gotten so far in such a career and how can that person even be considered a potential candidate for the nation’s highest office. And, at some point, we must stop supporting such behaviors and kick such people to the curb. If we don’t stop supporting those like Hillary, this nation will only decline further and be a shell of the great nation that was once envisioned merely decades ago.

If Hillary is the best that can be brought to the polls, our nation is in real trouble. We have to be able to find something better. Our future depends on it.

  1. Good Post! But the alternative is scary too. John Kerry who nominated himself for a Silver Star in Vietnam. Not poor character, I think just no character. Bidden? Very scary! The Republican field is no better. Why does the field of Presidential candidates not contain someone who has merit without the pandering for votes that we see daily and will for the next two years? The lack of real leadership is transparent as they try to garner support by playing to one interest and then another. Disgusting and outright cowardly!

I’m not looking for a Lincoln or a Roosevelt. It would be very nice! Something has gone very wrong in America with the polarized extreme Conservative vs. Liberal politics. It just seems that we are being played by both Democrats and Republicans. Enough!

I would welcome a mainstream candidate with leadership and meaningful attention to real issues – income tax reform, balanced budget, immigration reform. a comprehensive long range foreign policy, an energized national highway act, a long term national energy policy, Social Security Guarantees, environmental solutions, employment initiative, strengthening education and upholding the oath of office to support the Constitution and Laws of the United Sates. I could name 25 issues and others could name another 25 issues. We need solutions from a government (Congress and the President) working for its citizens!

The country needs action on the business of government. What we will get is the Democrats and Republicans playing nice up to the next election. The way it is our current politicians can’t agree on a budget package for more than 90 days to six months. I’m an old man and what politicians are doing scares me and makes me very concerned for the future of my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I have seen better days for America and better politicians in my country.

Be careful who you vote for in every election. We got to where we are because of who we have voted for.

  2. I am disabled and have a traumatic brain injury. I was thinking I could drag myself from poverty with some of that cash from the Clinton foundation as they say that they “Cater to the poor”. I meet that criteria. Why can’t I get some of those funds, to be able to live like a “normal person” who is not “below the poverty line”?
